Greetings from Gary A. Black. I'm an artist and musician residing in Raleigh, NC, U.S.A. I've spent several years constructing the retro assemblages that you see in this site. Vintage speaker cabinets, guitars, old records, speakers, mirrors, tubes, album covers, and photos were glued together and painted with unique car paints and acrylics to form these assemblages. "Mymusart" reflects my musical interests as well as my artistic imagination. I'm also a spirited impressionist painter, traveling sketch artist, and song writer. I also work in oils, acrylics, watercolors, pen & ink, and collage.
I am devoted to my art and have been actively engaged in it since childhood. I have a B.F.A. in studio art, B.S.Ed. in art education, and an M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction (focus on art); all from Kent State University. My work is an amalgam of inspiration drawn from the beauty, excitement, and complexity of life as I have experienced it. I hope that you enjoy my work.
